Izzie G has a new single, Special, coming out on August 17. This is a very powerful song, featuring the talented Myla, who he recently worked with on Communicate. This song has been in the works since 2020 and means a lot to all of the song’s collaborators. Since I helped choose the release date for Communicate, Izzie asked me to do so again, and Myla asked if I would write another blog post about how the release date for Special was chosen.
Since this song has been in the works so long, Izzie was anxious to release it, and did not want to wait for a perfect electional chart. That isn’t to say there is anything wrong with the release date. I am a firm believer that things will happen when they’re meant to, and the chart will reflect the song’s potential regardless. Of course, we want to give it a little astrological nudge and mitigate as many harmful aspects as possible, but sometimes you have to work within time constraints and that is what happened here.
August is eclipse season, and eclipses are chaotic and unpredictable. They are associated with the downfall of prominent figures as well as the sudden prominence of lesser known individuals. The energy in them is not instantaneous, and it could b6 months or more before the effects of an eclipse are realized. With starting something new under an eclipse, it could start out as being something small and insignificant (like a song that isn’t expected to reach a wide audience) and then suddenly taking off and becoming much more successful than expected. It could, unfortunately, go the other way as well, where something you expect to take off is eclipsed and never reaches its full potential. Because the first eclipse, a solar eclipse in Leo, is on August 12th, and the second eclipse, a lunar eclipse in Pisces, is on August 28th, the eclipse energy carries us through the month of August. This is because the energy of each eclipse is present for a week before and a week after.
My recommendation was to avoid releasing the song directly on an eclipse, which is why it is a few days after the solar eclipse in Leo. The energy from that eclipse is still present, but it is diminishing. The moon has also moved into Libra, where Venus is present and at home. Venus will go retrograde later this year, but it has not yet reached its shadow degrees, which refers to the degrees it will retrace once it goes retrograde. So, the moon and Venus are in good condition, which is what we want since Venus is music and the moon is the collective.
The sun (shining, prominence) is also in its domicile in Leo, along with Mercury (the message) and Jupiter (abundance), which have recently made an exact conjunction at 10º. Even though this conjunction is in the past by the time the song is released, the energy of that conjunction is still present and with the sun also being co-present, our hope is that the message of the song will spread far and wide. The moon and Venus in Libra are also sextiling these placements, giving them a little extra boost.
Since the eclipse energy is present anyway, we could have opted to choose an earlier date, but we decided against it for an important reason: Mercury in Leo was opposing Pluto in Aquarius. We also had to work around oppositions between the moon and Venus in Libra, and Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Venus is coming up on an opposition with Saturn, but it is in the stronger position being in its domicile with a sextile from Jupiter. We also had to work around a Mars-Venus square that has been in effect for weeks now. However, at this point the square is separating by a pretty good margin, and again, Venus is in better condition.
Izzie recently switched distribution services, so he can no longer pick a release time for any of the platforms. He also has to schedule a release at least 2 weeks in advance. Because of these limitations, we could not choose an exact chart for the song’s release. My recommendation to him for getting around this limitation is to schedule social media posts to go live at the chart time to take advantage of the better house placements. For example, in the chart we chose, the sun was in its joy in the 9th house. However, because he has to release a song at midnight, the sun will be in the 4th house. The aspects will be similar (although not exact) and the song will need more of a push to make it visible since all of those positive Leo placements as well as the Libra placements are hidden below the horizon.
Would releasing the song at a later date be better? No, the Astrology of the rest of the year and early next year is less advantageous than even a night chart right now. The May-June time frame was the easiest time to release things into the world, but things will increasingly get more complicated with a Venus retrograde and a Mars retrograde coming up. The song is very empowering and uplifting, perfect for the sun, Jupiter, and Mercury in Leo, as well as unifying with the moon and Venus in harmony and justice-driven Libra.
